Is it possible to travel via boat to another country?

I am having to relocate from the USA to the middle east for work permanently. Yes, in this current environment lol.

I don't really care to bring any belongings except a few sentimental items, and some of my clothes, maybe about 2-3 suitcases worth of stuff total and I'll rebuy things I need over there.

However I don't want to go by plane because I have a cat and I do not trust bringing her for such a long plane journey and having other people handle her. I've heard too many horror stories.

So I was wondering if there's an option for me and my cat to transit to the new country I'll be working in (Egypt) by sea?
