Is this okay for a law school ball? 💃

My university’s law school is organizing a ball soon and I’m honestly so nervous! It’s my first time going to an event like this and there’s no specific dress code mentioned, but I want to make sure I’m not underdressed. I found this long dress on sale at Shein a while ago and it’s pretty much the only formal thing I have right now. I actually really like the lace detail and the fit, but I’m worried it might look a bit "cheap" for a law school event?

What do you guys think? Is it appropriate for a ball, or should I keep looking for something else? Please be honest! 😭
