How can I format the style and functionality of check boxes?

I'm working on an excel checklist and I just put in check boxes, but there are a few issues I'm running into.

  1. The checkbox style is hard to see, especially when I print it out (default white box with black check mark). I'd like to change the style of it so the box and check mark appear a certain color/style when clicked, like the emoji ✅ or ❌ to make it easier to see with the naked eye.

  2. For certain parts of the list with multiple choices, I want to make it so only one choice can be selected. If another is clicked, the first is deselected. If you click the same choice twice, it makes all choices unchecked.

How can I pull off both of these?
